Struction 2.0

A quick update while I have a chance.

We made it successfully to MS (or Missississi as Jessie used to say) after the longest trek yet. Thanks to a snowstorm in PA/WV/TN it took us 22 hours and thanks to Sharon burning out both headlight bulbs within a half hour and getting lost in State College it took the other team a full 24 hours. Good times all in all, no falling asleep at the wheel, and it feels shorter and shorter every time. And we stopped for a nice long lunch in Alabama, and what should be on TV but the Penguins game (which they won) and, improbably, the Penn State basketball game (which they also improbably won).

Camp Victor is to Samaritan's Purse what Mark Huey is to Keith Hodge. It's a bit crazier, much artsier and random, and a good deal less organized (I love you both).

Struction has meant a lot of things so far. To one team, mostly roofing. To the other half of us, a combo of cleaning up debris, painting, insulating, ripping down old ceilings, drywalling, and making a new porch.

On a side note, apparently JiHye doesn't trust me. After warning her not to step between the studs in the attic we had to repeatedly tell her not to do it. Then when Alicia stepped through the ceiling (brilliant) JiHye flipped out because she didn't realize we were serious about falling through. Oi.

There was also a ridiculously incredible soccer game last night... soon to be followed by ultimate frisbee. Woot!

I hope you have a great trip. Either way, "struction" will go a long way and it's great that you're helping.

Best wishes...see you when you get back!
