So We Are Decided

And, just like that, I have the next 15 months planned out instead of just the next 2. I'll be spending the next year, starting in September, interning with Sojourners.

It was not an easy decision. It's an awesome opportunity. I get to live with 8 other interns in a house in downtown Washington DC for the year, living simply in community, sharing resources and food, working together, and learning to run together in Christ. Hard to beat that. Opportunities to volunteer in the city. Getting discipled and taught by Sojo staff. Learning some new skills. Essentially a year with all the logistics taken care of in which I get to figure out what comes next.

But it's not really what I had planned. A media intern? I get to do public relations. I don't know anything about PR. What happened to working directly with the poor? How did "I'll go anywhere in the world" turn into five hours from home?

And so, once again, Jesus is leading into the unknown and the unexpected. It's just like Him to pick something I never would think of. And for it to be about a thousand times better than whatever I had thought of. The adventure has been pretty amazing so far, I have no reason to doubt that it will continue to be so.
